Take Time for Yourself

Sometimes it seems as if life is going by so fast, we can hardly seem to find the time to take a breath and just be quiet. Figuring out how to balance careers, kids, relationships, health, hobbies, (and hopefully sleep!) can seem overwhelming and downright impossible. 

The other night, after finally getting my precious little ones to bed, I started to move on to the next thing. As I looked at all of the things I still needed to accomplish for the day ahead of me before I could finish the day was in, that overwhelming feeling of panic started to creep into my chest. I thought, how on earth am I going to do all of this? I could have started on the dishes, or the laundry, or any number of things. Instead, I chose to make myself a nice, hot cup of tea, curl up on the sofa next to my wonderful husband, and JUST BE STILL.

I boiled some water and steeped a cup of Nurturing Rose Tea from the Big Heart Tea Company, one of our latest finds!

I added a little bit of some of the local honey we carry, and I sat there and drank the tea, enjoying the tranquility of just being home with someone I love.
I took some deep breaths, savored every sip, and then I was able to start on my list of tasks feeling slightly refreshed and renewed. 


Here's the deal... life is full. We are never going to be "caught up," and there is always more to do. But take time for yourself. Do something every day that feeds your soul. Curl up on the couch, make yourself a cup of tea, and BE STILL & KNOW. You will be amazed at how much better you feel!
