Made by Ellie Messer, age 3, and her mother, Kaleena Messer, in Franklin, NC. The purpose of this ornament is to not only adorn your tree, but is to also offer aid to two very special children. The aforementioned Ellie, is believed to have autism, or is somewhere on the spectrum. The sale of these ornaments help to defray the cost of her therapy and related tools.
The other recipient is Ashton Zari. Ashton suffers from chronic kidney disease, and has had multiple surgeries in his short eight years. Undaunted, Ashton has decided for the fourth year in a row to, in a sense, donate his birthday to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities, as he has called this his home away from home. Due to the RMH, his family has been by his side for every surgery!
